  19. No, his statement was most definitely not "totally untrue".  I have a
  20. P90 with a fast graphics card and 8 megs of RAM, and switching between
  21. apps in Win95 and OS/2 takes a VERY long time, so long that I am afraid
  22. to do it.  I feel like my life is wasting away as I listen to the hard
  23. disk grind away (even in 16 colors) and watch the screen draw itself bit
  24. by bit.  Basically, what happens instantaniously on a Mac or Amiga
  25. (well, pretty fast on a Mac anyway) takes on average 2-10 seconds on my
  26. PC.  Win3.1 does it quite quickly if there are only one or two apps
  27. running, and slows down with more (not because it has to access the hard
  28. disk, it just slows down period).
  29.     It sounds like you have a minimum of 16 megs of RAM on your PC,
  30. probably more.  It is rediculous to need that much to get decent
  31. performance.
  32.     About the situation of the Amiga - I won't be optimistic about it
  33. until I see a commercial for one.  When that happens, we will know that
  34. Escom is serious about bringing it back.
